Kim has over 12 years of experience in the computer industry, from technical support specialist to Manager of Information Services. During that time she also wrote and edited computer manuals and technical reports.

Since joining the LANWrights gang full time in 2000, she has edited and managed over 25 books, including Networking Essentials, 2nd Edition; Guide to TCP/IP, 2nd Edition, Linux for Dummies, 3rd and 4th Editions; IT Certification Success Exam Cram 2, and several CoursePreps and Lab Manuals based on MCSE exams. Kim also co-authors IT-related articles for InformIT and TechTarget with Ed Tittel.

Her desire to be involved in the community has resulted in hours of volunteer time for the Talking Book Program (recording books for the blind and physically disabled), Useful Wild Plants, Inc. (the plant encyclopedia folks), and the Friends of the Austin Public Library. Kim currently is a board member of the Friends. Kim spends most of her free time catering to two dogs and two cats, and the neighborhood 4-leggeds that come by for a visit.
