<BANNER> Document Banner

Definition: The BANNER element is used when a document contains information that shouldn't be scrolled with the rest of the document. Navigation aids, disclaimers, and corporate logos are examples of this type of information. You can use BANNER instead of <LINK> in the document head to reference an externally defined banner.
