getstats.c - A C program written by Kevin Hughes at EIT, it parses the log file of a UNIX-based httpd server and produces statistics from it. It supports the Common Log File Format, as well as NCSA, CERN and others. Its output is perhaps the most customizable of the statistics packages we looked at.

Extended NCSA httpd 1.3 - These are provided by David-Michael Lincke, of the Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. They are hacks for the NCSA httpd server code that add referrer and user agent logs to the server. Since the writing of the book, these features have been added to the distribution version 1.41 of NCSA's httpd. However, these code augmentations still work on version 1.3.
