Definition: Defines the shape of a clickable hot spot on a client-side image map.

Attributes:

COORDS="x1, y1, x2, y2, …"

Coordinates define the area. Rectangles require only two x/y points while more complex shapes require more.

HREF="URL"

The destination of the clickable area

NOHREF

Defined region has no action.

SHAPE="shape type"

Denotes the type of shape: RECT, RECTANGLE, CIRC, CIRCLE, POLY, or POLYGON. (CIRC/CIRCLE takes three coordinates, centerx, centery, and radius; POLY/POLYGON takes three or more pairs of coordinates denoting a polygonal region.)

Suggested style/usage: Close Tag: OPTIONAL

Examples: Rectangle, <AREA SHAPE="RECT" COORDS="50, 25, 150, 125" HREF="http://www.sample.com">, creates a rectangular hot spot from pixel locations in the image at (50, 25) to (150, 125). In other words, this defines a region 100 pixels wide and 100 pixels deep, beginning at location 50,25 (50 pixels in and 25 pixels down from the upper left hand corner).
