About Lanw.com
The Lanw.com website has been online since the beginning of 1996, to host the works and services of the Lanwrights Consulting team which was started by Ed Tittel in 1990. Since those early days the Lanwrights team have written hundreds of tech books – including HTML for Dummies and numerous other ‘for Dummies’ series books, Exam Cram, and more – and featured in thousands of magazine articles both online and offline. In addition the team consulted for, and with, various Hi Tech companies such as Novell, Key3Media, Microsoft, GTE, Symantec and many others. Over the years various employees have come and gone, including James Michael Stewart, Natanya Pitts, Dawn Rader, Dr Bill Brogden, Mary Burmeister, Chelsea Valentine and Kim Lindros. Ed Tittel also co-authored many other books on various projects.
LANWrights has also delivered Windows NT-related training at a number of conferences, including NetWorld + Interop and The Internet Security Conference (TISC). LANWrights not only helped Austin Community College define a “Certified WebMaster” curriculum and certificate program for both classroom and online delivery.
In 2004 Ed Tittel sold the Lanwrights company to Thomson NetG, which was subsequently transferred to Skillsoft. The Lanw site was retained by the original team although many of the original team gradually moved on to other projects.
The Lanw website is modernising and upgrading to meet the challenges of the modern internet, so some changes may occur during this time. We will seek to minimise any error/not found pages and are currently implementing various rewrites to direct old pages to the new pages on the site.
